What is Contract Farming?
Contract farming means a company and a farmer make a deal before planting crops. The company says, You grow this crop for me, and I promise to buy it at a fixed price. Sometimes the company can also give Seeds, fertilizers, Farming Advice, Help with selling of goods abroad so that the farmers doesn’t have to worry about finding a buyer or getting a fair price. It’s like farming with a customer already in hand. This gives the farmer a sense of security, knowing in advance who will buy the produce and at what price. It reduces the burden on the farmer to worry about fluctuating market prices.
